Neodymium Magnets

Maximum holding force in a compact size: NdFeB permanent magnets

Neodymium Magnets

Made from rare-earth elements, the strongest permanent magnets available. Discs, blocks, rings and custom shapes with protective coatings.

What is a neodymium magnet?

Neodymium magnets (NdFeB) are made from an alloy of neodymium, iron and boron and are the strongest permanent magnets commercially available. Because they deliver the same holding force as a ferrite magnet in a much smaller volume, they are the first choice wherever compactness and efficiency matter — from motors and sensors to magnetic holders and separation systems.

High energy density

Very high force in a small size for lighter, more compact designs.

Flexible shapes

Discs, blocks, rings, segments and custom dimensions to drawing.

Protective coating

Nickel (Ni-Cu-Ni), zinc and epoxy coatings against corrosion.

Temperature grades

Standard grades as well as high-temperature resistant grades.

Applications

  • Electric motors, generators and drive systems
  • Tubes for magnetic filters, grates and separators
  • Sensors, encoders and measuring systems
  • Magnetic holders, fastening and fixture applications
  • Loudspeakers, medical devices and electronic components
  • Holding, aligning and conveying on automation lines

Choosing the right neodymium magnet

Neodymium magnets are produced in different quality grades (for example N35 – N52) and temperature classes. Standard grades operate safely up to about 80 °C, while special grades are used for higher temperatures. To recommend the right magnet we need:

  • Dimensions and tolerances, direction of magnetisation (axial, diametral, etc.)
  • Required holding force or magnetic field value
  • Operating temperature and environment (humidity, chemicals, food contact)
  • Quantity and mounting method

Safe handling: Neodymium magnets are extremely strong; large pieces can shatter when they snap together and may pinch fingers. Keep them away from pacemakers and other medical devices as well as magnetic data carriers.
